Successful bid for Cork County Council tender

March 2008

P. J. O’Driscolls, Solicitors have been appointed to the panel of solicitors of Cork County Council for Higher Courts / Oral Hearings / Advisory commencing March 2008 and running to 2010.

 

Law Society backs Collaboration

The President of the Law Society recently announced the support that the Law Society has for the collaborative method of dispute resolution particularly in the family law area.  Speaking at a parchment ceremony the President said the Society was 100% behind collaboration.  A meeting is being organised between the Law Society and the ACP in the forthcoming weeks to see how that support can be concretised.

 

Meeting with West Cork GPs

23rd October 2007

On the evening of the 23rd October, Anne O'Neill and Helen Collins (Wolfe and Co) visited the beautifully appointed new Medical Centre in Dunmanway to talk to the medical general practitioners of West Cork about collaboration. The doctors were very impressed with this new method of resolving family law disputes and in question time afterwards emphasised the health and therapeutic benefits for families which they felt would be enormous. All the doctors stressed the huge health and psychological toll of adversarial proceedings on the family and especially the children.

Litigation Solicitor Macaire McCauley Adams has joined P. J. O’Driscolls having previously worked with Daly, Derham, Donnelly, Solicitors, Cork, for 6 years where she qualified as a Solicitor. Prior to this Macaire qualified and worked as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK and New Zealand before returning to Ireland to study Law.

Fergus Appelbe, Richard O’Sullivan and Paul Westcott of P. J. O'Driscolls were recently engaged by a leading Cork-based property developer to assemble a high profile city centre site at Patrick Street and Grand Parade, Cork City, including the Capital Cinema and Central Shoe Stores.  These properties will form the core of a major forthcoming City Centre re-development.

 

Sale of Chris Kay Limited

Fergus Appelbe of P. J. O'Driscolls has recently conducted the sale of Chris Kay Limited a manufacturing company in Ireland employing over 100 people in Kinsale with subsidiaries and interests in jurisdictions including U.K., Spain and China.  

 

The transaction including the exercise of due diligence on a wide variety of manufacturing contracts and supply contracts to parties such as the Football Association, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Ajax.
