Paul has over 15 years experience as a Solicitor. Before joining P. J. O’Driscolls in 2005 he practised in both Scotland and Queensland, Australia and has worked both in-house and in private practice. In Scotland, Paul worked for Argyll and Bute Council for a number of years where, as Chief Solicitor, he managed an in-house legal team which provided legal advice to all council departments and councillors. The team also dealt with all litigation, licensing, insurance and district court matters on behalf of the council. Paul specialised in property, planning and environmental matters. He represented the council at numerous public inquiries, many of which were high profile and very contentious and was also involved in a number of major land acquisitions undertaken by the council. After moving to Australia in 2000, Paul worked in private practice in Brisbane and specialised in the areas of commercial law and commercial property. While there he worked for two of the larger firms in the city and regularly acted on behalf of two of the national banks as well as many large commercial organisations. During this time, Paul was responsible for advising clients on all aspects of their commercial activities. In particular, Paul has extensive experience in commercial Conveyancing, leasing, asset realisation and the preparation and review of a wide variety of commercial documentation. In 2004, Paul was promoted to the position of Associate with Dibbs Barker Gosling Lawyers where he specialised in commercial property and was also responsible for managing all residential Conveyancing undertaken by the firm. Paul is a member of the Commercial Department at P. J. O’Driscolls and advises clients on all aspects of Commercial Law, with a particular emphasis on commercial property matters. |
